Arrest made after violent sexual assault in Calgary

Woman was attacked while at work Saturday morning

A man is in custody after a woman suffered a violent sexual assault while at work in a Calgary business on Saturday morning.
Police said in a release they were called to the 10,000 block of Macleod Trail S. about 8:30 a.m. where they found the victim and arrested an offender at the scene.
She was taken to hospital where she remains in stable condition.
Charges are now pending and the sex crimes unit is investigating.
Police are not releasing where the woman was working to protect her privacy.
The man arrested is known to police, said Staff Sgt. Tom Hanson, and police don't believe he knew the victim before the attack.
