Loan will help company meet market demand
New packaging equipment at a P.E.I. potato packer, purchased with a loan from ACOA, is expected to help the company reach new customers.
ACOA announced the $250,000 loan to J & S Visser Produce of Orwell Cove.
The company will add a baler and bagger system, allowing the company to move quickly between types of potatoes and various packaging sizes. This will increase the variety of potato products offered and potentially attract new consumers.
"The new machinery helps us to meet the growing needs of our customers, in terms of volume and efficiency, and to develop new product for a changing market," said company owner Stephen Visser.
The company's products are sold across Canada and in the United States.
