Hamilton doctor charged with 3 more counts of sexual assault

Police believe there may still be more victims

A Hamilton doctor who is already facing several sexual assault charges has been charged with five more counts of sexual assault.
Three more women came forward after two news stories announced police had laid charges in December, Hamilton police said.
The three women contacted police alleging they were sexually assaulted in the last two years by Dr. Pierre Picard, Hamilton police said. Picard was arrested again last week and faces five new charges of sexual assault.
Eight women have now come forward to police. Police believe there may be more victims.
Picard, 48, is a neurologist who operates out of a private practice on Victoria Avenue North, across from Hamilton General Hospital.
Before this most recent arrest, Picard's bail conditions restricted him from having any encounters with female patients without a College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario-approved chaperone.
The conditions were listed on the doctor's page on the College's website(external link). It's unclear how any bail conditions may be changed based on the new charges.
Police ask anyone with more information to contact Det. Carolyne Rashford of the Sexual Assault Unit at 905.540.5543, or contact Crime Stoppers.
