OTTAWA, ON—On the heels of a possible ethics scandal involving a controversial trip to the Bahamas, Prime Minster Justin Trudeau decided to take another trip to clear his head – this time, to the lost city of Atlantis.
Recently rumours had been circulating about Trudeau's impending visit to the watery paradise, which the PMO confirmed yesterday. His office was much more forthright with the information as opposed to his previous trip, divulging that once he arrived at the exact centre of the ocean he was whisked away to the city on the backs of 60 private dolphins.
Although Trudeau insists he and Poseidon are long-time family friends, this outing has raised red flags. The alliance is seen as somewhat of a conflict of interest as the Atlanteans have the ability to control undersea creatures, which could help bolster the dwindling Canadian fishing industry.
A committee of watchdogs has been enacted to look into whether Trudeau is in violation of the Underwater Alliances Act in connection with his recent stay at Poseidon's underwater utopia. The committee will also examine whether the Prime Minister may have violated his obligations under section 114(a) of the act, which prohibits fraternizing and subsequent dancing with a manatee.
Other issues have been raised around the newfound partnership, specifically in connection with the Atlanteans' standing army because Trudeau's alignment with the tsunami god could be seen as an act of aggression toward all coastal nations. Especially Greece, whose ancient gods banished Atlantis to the sea centuries ago.
When asked if the entire family would again be accompanying him on the trip, Trudeau scoffed at the question, stating, "I am the only one in the family who's able to hold their breath for that long."
The Prime Minister says he is more than willing to reimburse the government for the use of their boat, which is a standard practice. He has set aside four golden coral harps and sixteen deep-sea rubies he purchased personally on the trip for this purpose.
