Steven Frenette, wanted in fatal Centretown shooting, turns himself in

Shooting of Lee John Joseph Germain, 32, was city's 21st homicide of 2016

A 33-year-old man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting last weekend in the city's Centretown neighbourhood has turned himself in, police say.

Steven Frenette gave himself up willingly Friday afternoon, the Ottawa Police Service said in a media release.
Frenette had been wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after the Dec. 10 shooting of 32-year-old Lee John Joseph Germain inside an apartment building at 571 McLeod St.
Frenette was charged with first-degree murder one day later. Police described him at the time as armed and dangerous.
The shooting was Ottawa's 21st homicide of 2016.
