Host Garth Materie will focus important work of food bank
CBC Radio's Afternoon Edition is taking the show on the road today for a good cause.
From 4 to 6 p.m. CST, Garth Materie will host his show live from the Saskatoon Food Bank. It's part of this year's Comfort and Joy campaign, raising money for food banks across the province.
The holidays can be a challenging time of year for many families. In Saskatoon, 21,000 people a month use the food bank's services.
The live show will feature interviews with donors, volunteers, and people who use the food bank. It will also feature an appearance from three of the kohkoms from the Rez Christmas series and an interview with playwright Curtis Peeteetuce.
A limited number of Hugo Alvarado mugs will also be for sale starting at 4 p.m.
