Corporation will match donations up to $500,000
For the seventh year in a row, PotashCorp will be matching donations to food banks in Saskatchewan.
That's good news for CBC's Comfort and Joy campaign. Once again, CBC Saskatchewan and Saskatoon are teaming up with Food Banks of Saskatchewan to help feed hungry families this holiday season.
PotashCorp will be matching donations up to $500,000 this year.
"The holiday season brings people together and food is an important part of that celebration," said Jochen Tilk, CEO of PotashCorp. "Our matching gift program encourages people to share in that sense of community and to remember that we are part of a bigger family in a province that cares."
Saskatchewan food banks say the holidays can be a very challenging time of year for many families. In Saskatoon, 21,000 people use the food bank's services every month.
