Wow, I really dodged learning my first lesson ever, there

An op-ed by Donald Trump

Wow. I must say, and I really do need to say this just now: I was not expecting that.
I mean, I really almost did not actually think I was going to get away with a lot of that stuff.
So I would like to thank you all in a very big, huge way.
I put a lot of stuff out into the air. Nasty stuff. I mean some really, truly bad stuff! But as has been the case my whole life, I did not have to endure any consequences for having done so. In fact, I was rewarded—even for some of the worst things!!! No lessons! Good!
I actually don't even want to spend another second talking about lessons, because I have been given absolutely no reason to learn them, or indeed to even realize quite what they are.
I gotta say though, you really could have put a hurting on me. Let's say I had been blown out of the water; if I got only 40%, say. Or 35%. Maybe 30! It was possible! I've got to be honest with you, and I can be now: I was hearing that from a lot of people. An awful lot of people. There was a risk that I deserved that. But now I know that I do not.
And now I'm in charge. So I will lead and instruct without these lessons, and that is a great relief to me—a relief and, to be honest once again as I love to do, a bit of a surprise.
But the really great thing about me being spared this lesson is how many other people have been spared it as well. Because I didn't just say a lot of horrible things myself—many people, a great many people, said horrific things in support of my horrifc things! I mean I made people feel comfortable with a lot of bad stuff. Some very bad ideas, let me tell you!
Had I not been elected president of the United States of America (the most powerful country in the world), people would have somehow been given the idea, the feedback, that what they thought and said was not a good thing. And gosh, am I glad they didn't have to go through that. A lot of people don't know this, but I'm actually a very empathetic person when it comes to the sort of people that I like. I'm a giver. I'm a helper. Even I wasn't sure of this myself, but now I've been convinced of it, because I'm the president of the United States. That guy has to be a good guy!
So you can imagine my relief when this good guy and his white supporters were spared the kind of horrible thinking that can go on after you lose at something. Trust me, I've almost come face to face with it many times. When I went bankrupt, when I made all kinds of other mistakes, I was sometimes about to start thinking that I would maybe have to check and see whether it was something about me that caused some of these things—but then I avoided that fate because things turned out okay so I could just snap out of it.
Usually I thought it was because my wealth, my name, and my skin colour put me ahead of so many people and I could just jump to the front of the line. But that's only partly what happened here! 59,479,278 million people agreed with me that I could! They said they wanted me to! They gave me permission! Holy cow.
So thanks. Will this happen again? I hope so! Up to you, but I really hope so, and thanks for this one in the meantime.
