No injuries to people or animals after fire in Cornwall early Thursday morning
Fire destroyed a barn on the York Point Road in Cornwall early Thursday morning.
The North River fire department took a call around 3 a.m. to go to York Point Farms.
"When we arrived on scene it was fully involved, heavy flames coming out of the structure," said Anson Grant, the North River Fire Chief. "Really all we could do was protect the adjacent structures that were in the yard — homes and another large barn."
The barn was used as a storage facility for wood chips, a wood chip burner, shavings for farm animals, tractors, and other equipment. The fire destroyed the building and all the contents.
There were no animals in the building and no one was injured.
It took firefighters two hours to get it under control.
The fire marshal is still investigating the cause of the fire.
