The P.E.I. driver of a Seafood Express truck has been charged in connection with a highway accident in Maine that caused serious injuries to another driver.
The accident happened about 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Maine State Police say the truck driver was attempting to turn around using an authorized vehicle turnout, meant for police and state Department of Transportation vehicles, on the highway near Hampden.
An SUV behind the tractor trailer swerved to avoid the slowing truck, lost control, and crashed. The driver suffered serious injuries and is in critical condition.
