Peter Bevan-Baker 'surprised but delighted' Elizabeth May staying as Green Party leader

P.E.I. Green Party Leader Peter Bevan-Baker says he is pleasantly surprised that Elizabeth May has decided to stay on as the federal leader.
Earlier this month, May had said she was reconsidering her leadership after a party policy conference backed sanctions against Israel.
But on Monday, she announced her decision to stay on.
Bevan-Baker said it's good news for the party across the country.
Sounded 'despondent'
"Having spoken to her just a couple of weeks ago where she was looking and sounding pretty despondent about the challenges of leading a party, I am somewhat surprised but delighted." he said. "She is an amazing spokesperson for the Green Party nationally."
May said she decided to stay after speaking with the Green Party's federal council.
There will be a special meeting to review any resolutions from the August convention, including the motion on Israel, she added.
