After days of rain, Islanders tell weatherman they're fed up
After days of drizzle, Islanders are fed up with the weather — and have no qualms complaining about it to CBC weatherman Kevin "Boomer" Gallant.
That is, until they realize he's actually listening.
His job is on the line
"It's been miserable the last three or four or five days. It's that time of year you'd think you'd be getting good weather," said Paul Taweel.
"[Boomer]'s going to have to improve if he's going to keep his job."
At that point, Gallant popped up beside Taweel.
"What's that sir?" he asked, and Taweel started to backtrack on his previous assertion.
'We'd like some sunshine'
"If you have any pull with the weather, please change it. We'd like some sunshine," said Karma McCallum.
Gallant showed up to offer her a "catalogue."
"Would you like to order some sunny weather?" he asked.
"Just sunny! I would like it to be warm," said McCallum.
Feuding neighbours
"It's cold! It's way too cold for this time of year," said Bev Bishop.
She asked Gallant to "do something different" and make it warmer for the rest of the year.
But then he appeared.
The two used to be neighbours.
"You didn't talk to me like that!" said Gallant. "I'm appalled!"
Just be patient
"Some sunshine would be nice," said Danielle Burke.
"Could you be patient with the rest of us," said Gallant, popping out from behind a parking meter.
Gallant is forecasting sunshine starting Thursday.
