Calgary prostitute stabbed 64-year-old client in his Rosscarrock home
Crystal Crowchild has been convicted of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of her client in his Rosscarrock home in 2010.
It is the second time the prostitute's self defence claim was rejected. Crowchild was first convicted of murder in 2013 but the Alberta Court of Appeal overturned the ruling and ordered a new trial.
The jury deliberated Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning before reaching its verdict.

The body of 64-year-old Aref Selman Nassereddine was discovered by his wife and six-year-old daughter in March 2010.
The Crown prosecutor said there was no question the prostitute stabbed her client — she had told friends, family and police that she did it. But if the jury found she was acting in self-defence, Crowchild would have been acquitted.
The two had sex but Nassereddine wanted more, and Crowchild refused. He followed her downstairs where she stabbed him several times, according to the opening statement to the jury.
A second-degree murder conviction comes with a life sentence with no chance of parole for at least 10 years.
A sentencing hearing will take place in March.
