Man dies after being pulled from Detroit River

The U.S. Coast Guard says a man has died after being pulled from the Detroit River.
The man had been spotted walking on the ice on the river, when he plunged into the water on Wednesday morning.
A Coast Guard ship was nearby and able to dispatch crews to get him out of the water.
The man later died in hospital.
In a telephone interview on Thursday, Lieut. Ben Chamberlain, a spokesman for the Coast Guard, told CBC News the deceased was a man in his 60s, who was from nearby Southfield, Mich.
