Misener, 30, of Pleasant Grove, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of careless use of a firearm after two men were shot early Christmas morning.
Misener appeared in P.E.I. Supreme Court Wednesday morning. He was led into the courtroom in handcuffs and shackles while several members of his family looked on.
The appearance was a chance for the defense and the Crown to argue over whether Misener should be kept in custody while the case proceeds, but both sides agreed to adjourn the case until Jan. 18.
Both the Crown and defense said they were still waiting for a significant amount of information from police, who are still investigating.
Misener agreed to remain in custody until his next court appearance.
RCMP have released little information about the shooting.
Police have said one of the victims, a 28-year-old man, was treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and later released.
The other, a 23-year-old man, was sent to a hospital in Halifax for treatment. According to an online fundraiser collecting money to pay for his treatment and transportation, he remains in stable but critical condition and will have to stay in Halifax for at least another month.
Police believe all three men may have known each other, but haven't released any further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
