Expect a mild Christmas in Hamilton, but expect the unexpected in post-Christmas travel plans
Just a few days out from Christmas and forecasts still indicate a green, mild Christmas in Hamilton. For toboggan enthusiasts, now is the time to cue the sad Charlie Brown music.
Environment Canada is reporting that Christmas day will be a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 4 C and a low of 2 C. Boxing Day will bring a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 6 C, low of 2 C.

The Weather Network's 14 day forecast says those mild temperatures will carry on until New Year's Eve, which will be mainly cloudy with a high of -2 C. New Year's Day will be a tad warmer, with a high of 1 C and sunny with cloudy breaks.
Travel Destinations
And if you were looking for something a little warmer than just mild, or you were just looking for a change of scenery this holiday season, here's a look at some major travel destinations this holiday season.
Calgary is showing sunny right throgh the Christmas week, but temperatures will be just above freezing. If you are heading east, Halifax is a mix of sun and rain, with a high of 12C on Christmas Day.
Montreal might see flurries on Sunday.
Conditions look stable prior to Christmas across the U.S., but AccuWeather.com forecasts a major snowstorm in the south central United States beginning just after Christmas, which could throw a wrench into Canadian traveller's plans.
The slow-moving storm will cover thousands of square miles from New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois. Those areas will see everything form heavy snow to blizzard conditions to ice, flooding rain and severe thunderstorms early next week, they said.

New Year's Eve will be mainly sunny with a high of 6 C. New Year's Day will be cloudy with sunny breaks and a high of 5 C.
Miami
Expect thunderstorms on New Year's Eve with a high of 27 C. New Year's Day will be cloudy with sunny breaks and a high of 26 C.
Los Angeles
New Year's Eve will be sunny with a high of 16 C, and more of the same on New Year's Day.
Cancun, Mexico
There's a chance of showers on New Year's Eve with a high of 28 C. New Year's Day will be mainly sunny with a high of 28 C.
Havana, Cuba
New Year's Eve will be sunny with a high of 29 and New Year's Eve will have a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 24 C.
Vancouver
New Year's Eve will see chances of showers with a high of 3 C, while New Year's day will be cloudy with showers and a high of 4 C.
Halifax
A mix of sun and cloud for New Year's Eve with a high of 4 C. New Year's Day will be mainly cloudy with a high of 2 C.
