What's open and closed in Hamilton this holiday season

It's getting down to crunch time.
For those last minute errands, we've compiled a list of what's open and closed in Hamilton between Christmas and New Year's Day.
Be sure to check out forecasts for the next week and a half, and try some of the best things to do around Hamilton this holiday season.
Here's some help for those eleventh hour errands:

City services

All city of Hamilton administrative offices will be closed from Dec. 25 through to Jan. 1. Offices will reopen Jan. 4. For emergencies involving roads, water mains, sewer systems, public health and safety issues, call 905-546-2489.
Garbage and recycling: There is no green bin, blue box or garbage pick up on Christmas Day, and all other pick-ups the rest of the week are delayed by one day. Recycling centres are closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
HSR bus schedule: On December 25, buses will operate on a special Christmas Day schedule. On Boxing Day and Monday Dec. 28, buses are on a Saturday schedule while New Year's Eve is a regular weekday schedule, with service free after 6 p.m. New Year's Day will be a Sunday/holiday schedule.
ATS-DARTS: DARTS will be operating on holiday service hours on Dec. 24, 25, 26 and Jan. 1. On Dec. 31, DARTS will operate on a weekday schedule and service will be free after 6 p.m. All subscription trips on DARTS, with the exception of dialysis, are cancelled for Christmas Day and New Year's Day. If passengers need to travel on these days, they must call DARTS reservations at 905-529-1717 to book their trips.
Recreation centres and arenas: All closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
Libraries will be closed on the following dates: Dec. 24, 25, 26, 27 and Jan. 1.
All museums are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
The Farmers' Market will be closed Dec. 25, 26, 27, 28 and Jan. 1.
Ontario Works offices will be closed from Christmas Day to Jan. 4.
Parking tickets and property taxes: And if parking services is on your Christmas list this year, you're in luck. Payment of property taxes can be left in a drop box at of City Hall or at your nearest Municipal Service Centre. Parking tickets can be paid online anytime at www.hamilton.ca/parking(external link).
Christmas tree collection: Trees will be collected during the weeks of Jan. 11 and Jan. 18. Just as a reminder, do not wrap trees in plastic bags. Be sure to take down all ornaments and decorations from the tree.

Malls

Eastgate Square: Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Open at 8 a.m. Christmas Eve and 10 a.m. Boxing Day.
Lime Ridge: Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Open at 7 a.m. Boxing Day and 9 a.m. Christmas Eve.
Jackson Square: Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Open at 10 a.m. on Boxing Day, 9:30 a.m. Christmas Eve.

Liquor Stores

LCBO and Beer Stores will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day and will close by 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Grocery Stores

Grocery stores, including 24-hour WalMart Supercentres, will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Most will be open Boxing Day, although a handful will remain closed.
