Star Wars marathon awakens Calgary fans before dawn

Jacked on coffee, fans embark on 17 hours of galactic cinema at Chinook Centre
Jedi fans from across Alberta bounced out of bed Thursday morning to watch all six Star War episodes, in a row, before tonight's official release of The Force Awakens.
"It is a lovely day in a galaxy far, far away right now," said CBC Calgary Star Wars Marathon correspondent, Graham White.
The super-fan set his alarm for 2:45 a.m., was in line at the movie theatre by 4 a.m. and has been guzzling back coffee, ever since
Cineplex is only hosting the 17-hour Star Wars Marathon at two Alberta locations: Calgary's Scotiabank Chinook and the South Edmonton Common Cineplex.
However, White says he met a few Edmontonians who traveled all the way to Calgary for the event because there were still a few tickets left Thursday morning for the show.
He says he's also ran into fans from Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and Red Deer, Alta.
Even Calgarians who couldn't make it to the Star Wars Marathon were celebrating today.
"They're extra Chewie," said Julie Van Rosendaal about the Wookiee Cookies she made for the CBC Calgary Suncor Food Bank Drive.
Viewers only get 20 minutes between episodes to stock up on concession snacks or wriggle out of their Chewbacca costumes to take a quick bathroom break.
