Agreement-in-principle on working conditions
Quebec unions representing CEGEP teachers have reached a tentative deal with the provincial government after months of rotating strikes.
- Montreal's CSDM to shut down schools for 3 days in December due to strike
- Quebec public sector union asks members to consider 10-day strike mandate
- Quebec school strikes: Ped days, even spring break, could be cancelled
The deal offers better working conditions for CEGEP teachers including extra support for students with disabilities. It does not cover salary or contracts.
An agreement-in-principle comes after a week of accelerated negotiations. The tentative deal was struck on Sunday.
Quebec public sector workers have been holding rotating walkouts across the province since September.
Teachers, health-care professionals and other civil servants have been without a collective agreement since April.
