A Quebec union representing over 100,000 public workers in health care and social services is asking its members to consider a mandate of 10 rotating strike days.
The FSSS-CSN's announcement was made on Tuesday following accelerated talks between Quebec public sector unions and the provincial government.
If the members vote in favour of a mandate then the healthcare and social services system could hold a series of 13 rotating strike days in the near future.
Health care professionals, teachers and other civil servants have been holding rotating walkouts for months.
If negotiations continue to stall, then a province-wide strike will be held on Dec. 9.
Public sector employees have been without a contract since April.
