Mitchell Harkes has been found guilty of murdering a 20-year-old university student at a Calgary house party in January 2013.
Brett Wiese died from his injuries after being stabbed multiple times at a home in the Brentwood area in the city's northwest. A second person was also seriously hurt.
The Crown prosecutor argued during the trial that Harkes had returned to the party armed with a knife to get revenge after Jazlyn Radke and her twin sister were kicked out earlier in the evening.
Radke, who also brought a knife back to the party, was found guilty of second-degree murder in May. She was 17 when she was charged, but was sentenced as an adult.
Wiese's family members gathered at a Calgary courthouse Saturday to hear the verdict.
Harkes was found guilty of all seven charges, including second-degree murder, aggravated assault, attempted murder, assault and breaking and entering.
The second-degree murder conviction comes with an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 10 to 25 years.
