5-year-old who died suspiciously in July was 'in good health' when he moved to Calgary in February, police say
Calgary police continue to question five family members about the suspicious death of a five-year-old boy.
Eneas Emilio Perdomo was taken to hospital with severe injuries on July 10.
Medical staff noticed he had suspicious swelling and bruising all over his body. The boy died a week later.
"Investigators are working to develop an accurate timeline in relation to what may have happened to Emilio," police said in a release Friday.
No suspects have been identified, but investigators are now focusing on those who had exclusive access to the boy at the time he was injured. Police say he wasn't with his mother at the time.
"The investigation has now determined Emilio was residing with non-biological family members and that he was in good health when he was brought to live with them in February of 2015," said police.
Staff Sgt. Mike Cavillia says Emilio didn't go to school, or daycare, and that's why police are focusing on the five family members — including two teenagers.
Police are not releasing the boy's nationality.
