Eneas Emilio Perdomo's died from injuries not consistent with an accident, finds autopsy
Calgary police say they are investigating the death of five-year-old Eneas Emilio Perdomo who was brought into hospital with severe injuries in July.
An autopsy determined the boy's injuries were not an accident.
Police say hospital staff suspected the swelling and bleeding all over his body was not normal for a child his age after the boy's family brought him to the Alberta Children's Hospital on July 10.
He died a week later.
Staff Sgt. Doug Andrus says they are still talking to the family.
"They have not been ruled out. We are looking at anyone who had exclusive opportunity with the child," he said. "But they have provided us with statements and information, and those statements and information are not consistent with the injuries suffered by the child."
Investigators also want talk with those who had close contact with the boy. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 403-266-1234 or Calgary Crime Stoppers.
