A 29-year-old Dartmouth man is facing charges, including an attempted murder charge, in relation to a stabbing in downtown Halifax a few weeks ago.
The man is facing charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after the stabbing last month.
On May 21, less than 24 hours after being released from prison, Jason Kyle DeYoung was stabbed in an alley behind Cornwallis Street.
DeYoung was able to make his way down to Gottingen Street, outside the Salvation Army, to find help.
He was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
DeYoung served two-thirds of a seven-year sentence for crimes including: escaping lawful custody, three counts of assault with a weapon, death threats and two counts of armed robbery.
DeYoung led police on a high-speed chase through the streets of Halifax in October 2007.
He was shot in the knee while fleeing from police.
