RCMP are reporting a second fatal highway accident on P.E.I. Thursday.
At about 1 p.m. a truck left the road on Highway 6 in Margate, northeast of Kensington, say police.
The driver of a truck was pronounced dead at the scene, says Sgt. Leanne Butler.
"Upon their arrival they did find that the driver of that vehicle was deceased. The vehicle left the road and it's a steep ditch and culvert that it hit," she said.
The driver was the only person in the truck.
On Thursday morning one person died in a collision involving a transport truck and a car at the Albany intersection near the Confederation Bridge.
Two fatal accidents in one day is very unusual on P.E.I.
"You know, it's very tragic circumstances and the officers do what they have to do and it can be a trying day for everybody, of course," said Butler.
Investigations into both crashes are ongoing.
