1 person dead after 2-vehicle crash near Confederation Bridge

Collision, which occurred near Albany Y, involved transport truck and car

One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision in the Albany area, near the Confederation Bridge on P.E.I., Thursday morning, say RCMP.
The crash, involving a transport truck and a car, occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Route 1A in an area near the overpass at the Y intersection, say police.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released the victim's identity.
"At this point we are still investigating," said Sgt. Leanne Butler. "Our accident reconstructionist is going to reconstruct what happened and at that point we'll know better what occurred."
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Then, on Thursday afternoon, RCMP responded to a second fatal accident, this time on Highway 6 in Margate, northeast of Kensington. Police say the driver of a truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
