RNC staffer who tipped off targets to be sentenced next week

Angela Marie McCarthy, a former civil employee with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, who pleaded guilty to obstructing justice will be sentenced next week.
McCarthy, who lives in Benoit's Cove, was charged in April 2014 after tipping off the targets of a drug investigation.
McCarthy, 32, pleaded guilty in December to the single charge.
She was fired after the RNC suspected she was meddling in their police investigation.
The Crown is asking for six to nine months in jail.
McCarthy's lawyer is asking for house arrest.
She will be sentenced on March 11.
