A man is in critical but stable condition after he was shot multiple times outside the House of Lancaster, a strip club on the Queensway in Etobicoke.
The 24-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being shot in the head.
The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. on the edge of the club's parking lot.
Five paid-duty officers were already on the scene — they had been hired by the club for crowd control — and were breaking up several fights when shots rang out. The club had been rented for a dance event called Magic Mondays.
More than 10 shots were fired from two guns outside the club, police said. One nearby house had a window damaged by bullets.
"Whatever took place over here continued even with the officers' presence," said Supt. Shaun Narine.
The victim might have been a bystander, police said.
No arrests were made and police are looking for multiple suspects.
An incident at the House of Lancaster in October was linked by investigators to the shooting death of 32-year-old Jelena Loncar, outside another club.
