Felix Auger-Aliassime falls in 1st round of Argentina Open
Montreal teenager commits 4 double faults in loss
Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime was eliminated in the first round of the Argentina Open on Monday.
The Montreal teenager was defeated 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 by Christian Garin of Chile at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.
Auger-Aliassime converted on 5 of 12 break points as opposed to six breaks for Garin.
The 18-year-old Canadian also had four double faults as compared to five for his opponent in the first match between the two.
Garin takes on Marco Cecchinato of Italy next in the clay-court tournament.
Italian Lorenzo Sonego knocked out No. 6 seed Nicolas Jarry with a 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-3 victory.
Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain and German Maximilian Marterer also advanced.
Ramos-Vinolas beat Brazilian Rogerio Dutra Silva 6-3, 6-4, and Marterer posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory over local favourite Facundo Bagnis.
