Bianca Andreescu wins Libema Open semifinal in straight sets
Canadian awaits opponent for Sunday's final at Wimbledon tune-up tourney
Canada's Bianca Andreescu has advanced to the final of the Libema Open in the Netherlands, winning her semifinal match against Hungary's Dalma Galfi in straight sets by a score of 6-4, 6-2.
Andreescu, of Mississauga, Ont., will face either two-time defending champion Ekaterina Alexandrova or No. 2 seed Liudmila Samsonova, both of Russia, in the final on Sunday at the Wimbledon tune-up tourney. Their match was suspended due to rain after each player won a set apiece, with play to resume Sunday morning.
"It feels great," Andreescu said after the match. "I believe that all the hard work that I'm putting in and the perseverance and never giving up is really paying off."
