Group F: Latin american success virtual guarantee

Group E may not be likely to provide a Latin American success story, but Group F is almost certain to.

It's hard not to see Argentina thriving with all of the attacking talent at the country's disposal.

It starts with Lionel Messi, a four-time World Player of the Year. Though he's struggled in past World Cups, his goal in the first match against Bosnia and Herzegovina indicates he's more than ready for this one.

Aside from Messi, Sergio Aguero looks set to give the opposition fits. One of the best players in the English Premiership, Aguero would be the top striker on almost every other team at the World Cup.

Argentina would like nothing better than to win a World Cup on their neighbour's and biggest rival's home soil.

Canadian connections

Among the teams hoping to stand in the way of Argentina is a World Cup debutant. Bosnia-Herzegovina qualified for the tournament for the first time this spring when they beat Lithuania in a playoff.  Asmir Begovic was a big part of Bosnia's success. If you recognize his name, Begovic used to be Canada's starting goalie at the under 20 level.

You don't have to look far to find another Canadian connection in Group F. Iran's Steven Beitashour is a right fullback for the Vancouver Whitecaps. Playing in Major League Soccer, Beitashour will not be accustomed to the quality of attackers he'll face in Brazil. It's not just the likes of Messi, Aguero and Bosnia's Eden Dzeko.

Victor Moses is one of several Nigerian forwards who suit up for top European clubs. If the "Super Eagles" don't beat you in regular time, watch out if things go to penalty kicks. 

Their goalie, Vincent Enyeama, has not only stopped his share, but he knows how to score on penalties too. Enyeama has done it 18 times already in his career.
