Forward Miguel Montano will stay with the Montreal Impact for its debut season in Major League Soccer.

The team announced Wednesday that Montano has become the fifth player from the Impact's 2011 squad in the NASL to sign for the jump to MLS next season, joining goalkeeper Evan Bush, defender Hassoun Camara and midfielders Ian Westlake and Sinisa Ubiparipovic.

He is the second Colombian on the roster after defender Nelson Rivas.

"Miguel showed that he is a dangerous, mobile, and intelligent young forward and his performances helped the team to a very strong second half of the season," said Impact coach Jesse Marsch.

"Moving into MLS, we believe that Miguel is ready to elevate his game even more."

The 20-year-old Montano was loaned to the Impact by the Seattle Sounders on Aug. 15. He had one goal in six games with Montreal, including five as a starter.
