Quebec's Aurelie Rivard picked up her third gold medal of the 2015 Parapan Am Games and her fourth in total.

The 19-year-old entered the games as a threat to win seven medals and that target is still within reach. Rivard has competed in four events so far, with three remaining.

On Tuesday, Rivard finished first in the 400-metre freestyle S10 to go along with the gold she earned in the 100m butterfly S10 and the 50m freestyle S10. Rivard took silver in the 100m breaststroke.

"I was really tired and had a short night of sleep," said Rivard, who was born without a left hand. "I was a little nervous before my race but I just gave it my all."

Still on the topic of swimming, Benoit Huot of Quebec led a sweep of the men's 400m freestyle, followed by Montreal's Isaac Boukley and Alex Elliot of Kitchener, Ont., respectively.

"I was excited to race," Huot said. "The first three days were beginning to feel like a long wait."

Moments earlier Kippens, N.L. resident Katarina Roxon also won gold in the pool to add to the two silvers she has already earned in these Games.

"I could hear the crowd cheering the last 25 metres," said Roxon. "I just wanted to get to the wall quicker and do it for Canada."

Anxious moments for Lavalliere

Montreal's Jean-Michelle Lavalliere had some anxious moments in the S7 200-m individual medley. He finished second in 2:49.12 but it was announced he was disqualified for a non-simultaneous touch. That was later overruled and he was awarded his second silver of the meet. "I was really happy, then a bit down, then happy again," said the 24-year-old who has cerebral palsy.

On the track, Michelle Stilwell captured gold in the 100m T52
