Paralympian Bruno Garneau and his guide speak without words

Not all communication is done verbally. Paralympian Bruno Garneau and guide Ginette Béliveau are a perfect example of that.

Not all communication is done verbally. Paralympian Bruno Garneau and guide Ginette Béliveau are a perfect example of that.

Garneau, a member of Canada's boccia BC3 team in Rio, has worked with Béliveau for over 20 years. Since Garneau is non-verbal, he uses his eyes and head to speak to Béliveau during competition.

"In the evening we'll often revisit the day to see what worked, what didn't," Béliveau told CBC Sports' Jacqueline Doorey. "We understand each other really well. Bruno, with his head, his eyes [and] his smile."
