The Canadian mixed curling team booked its ticket into the final of the Youth Olympic Games on Tuesday in Lillehammer, Norway.

Canada thumped Turkey 10-2 in the quarter-final matchup before holding off Switzerland 7-5 in the semifinals later in the day.

The Canadians, consisting of skip Mary Fay (Chester, N.S.), third Tyler Tardi (Surrey, B.C.), second Karlee Burgess, (Brooksfield, N.S.), and lead Sterling Middleton (Fort St. John, B.C.), will face the U.S. in the final on Wednesday.

The Americans defeated Russia 8-6 Tuesday.

In the semifinal match against Switzerland, Canada's steal of three in the fourth end helped them a comfortable 5-1 lead.

However, the Swiss, led by skip Selina Witschonke, rallied to cut the deficit to 6-5 in the seventh.

Canada preserved the victory in the eighth and final end, using the hammer to secure a point.

The Canadians cruised through the preliminary round, sporting a perfect 7-0 record.

Canada won bronze at the Youth Olympics four years ago in Innsbruck, Austria.
