Canada comes close to podium at long track World Cup
Gilmore Junio is top Canadian finisher, 4th in 500m
Canada littered the top 10 but couldn't find the podium on Saturday at the long track World Cup from Norway.
Gilmore Junio was Canada's top finisher, placing fourth in the men's 500-metre. Canadians Alex Boisvert-Lacroix and Laurent Dubreuil finished fifth and seventh in the event.
On the women's side, Marsha Hudey finished fifth in the 500, after winning silver in the event on Friday. Canada's Heathe McLean placed 10th.
Ivanie Blondin gave Canada their sixth top-10 placement of the day, finishing seventh in the women's 1500.
In the final event of the day, Vincent De Haitre got 19th in the men's 1500.
The gold medal winners were Japan's Nao Kodaira in the women's 500, the Netherlands' Ronald Mulder in the men's 500, Japan's Miho Takagi in the women' 1500 and Norway's Sverre Lunde Pedersen in the men's 1500.
