Megan Oldham of Parry Sound, Ont., won bronze Saturday at the freeski slopestyle world championships in Aspen, Colorado Saturday.

Competing in windy conditions, Oldham rebounded from a failed first pass and fall with two strong runs, scoring 76.18 on the final effort to reach the podium.

On her last run, Oldham added a left double cork 1260 as her last jump, clinching her third-place finish.

"I was super excited to land the 1260," Oldham said. "I wasn't sure if I was going to do it coming in. It was a bit of a last-minute decision, but after feeling good about the first part of my run, I decided to go for it.

"It definitely feels unreal to get a bronze at my first world championships."

She is hoping to compete in Tuesday's big air event that will be lived streamed at CBC Sports at 12 p.m. ET, with qualifying being held on Sunday.
