Reunited: Olympic greats Tessa Virtue, Scott Moir joining CBC broadcast team for ice dance event
Retired Canadian duo won ice dance gold at 2010, 2018 Games
Olympic gold medallists Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are joining the CBC Olympics team for Beijing 2022 as special analysts for the Olympic ice dance competition.
Beginning on Saturday, the pair will be part of the CBC Olympic broadcasts when the ice dance portion of the figure skating schedule gets underway with the rhythm dance.

—@CBCOlympicsVirtue and Moir dominated their sport in the 2000s, winning Olympic gold on home ice in Vancouver in 2010 and then again in 2018 in Pyeongchang, along with a silver medal in Sochi in 2014. They were also part of the Canadian figure skating team that won silver in the team event when it made its debut in Sochi, and then gold in 2018. The pair retired from competitive skating a year later.
Virtue announced her new gig with her on-ice partner in an Instagram post in which she shared that she "can't wait to be part of the @cbcolympics broadcast for ice dance this weekend with the one and only, @scottmoir." She signed off the post with a microphone emoji.
Canada has three pairs in the ice dance competition in Beijing: Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier, who are currently ranked fourth in the world; Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Soerensen, ranked 10th; and Zachary Lagha and Marjorie Lajoie, who are ranked 17th.
The free dance portion of the competition, when medals are handed out, is scheduled for Feb. 14.
