Six Canadian skaters are competing at the Trophée Eric Bompard in Bordeaux France: Patrick Chan, Gabrielle Daleman, dancers Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier, and pairs Julianne Seguin and Charlie Bilodeau.

However, in light of the Friday's deadly attacks in Paris, some are calling for the cancellation of the fourth Grand Prix event of the season. It's expected that the ISU, figure skating's governing body, will make an announcement on the status of the competition on Saturday morning.

The first sounds of attack were heard during a friendly soccer match between France and Germany at Stade de France in northern Paris.

In the following vine you can hear a loud blast during the game. Fans we're unsure of what had caused the noise.

Attendees of the game heard news of the attacks through social media and many didn't leave the stadium after the match was completed as they felt safer inside.
