Chris Spring grabs gold in bobsleigh at World Cup
Justin Kripps finishes 5th
Canada's Chris Spring and Lascelles Brown captured gold on Saturday night in the two-man bobsled race at the World Cup.
It was the first career win for Spring, a Calgary native, who piloted his sled to a one minute 42.76 seconds finish.
"I know coming into this race I'm one of the best drivers in the world on this track, and if we have the start we did then I had the confidence knowing I can win the race and we showed that today," said Spring.
Ugis Zalims and Intars Dambis of Latvia came second in 1:42.96 while Alexander Kasjanov and Aleksei Pushkarev of Russia were third at 1:43.00.
Canadians Justin Kripps and Alexander Kopacz finished in fifth place.
Earlier, Canada's Kaillie Humphries was golden again in Whistler.
The Calgary pilot and brakeman Melissa Lotholz of Barrhead, Alta., raced to a two-run time of 1:45.37 to win the women's World Cup bobsled race.
