Canada's Mo Ahmed ran a personal best in the 10,000m on Friday, finishing second at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford, Calif.
Ahmed, who's previous best was 27 minutes and 34.64 seconds, surpassed his own mark by just over four seconds, finishing in 27:30:00.
He was still off the Canadian record, which was set by Cam Levins in 2016, who ran it in 27:07.51.
Patrick Tiernan of Australia finished first, just 0.19 seconds ahead of Ahmed at 27:29.81.
