Canadian Heather Abadie claimed bronze in the women's pole vault at the U20 World Athletics Championships in Nairobi on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old, Port Elgin, Ont., native jumped 4.05 metres to make the podium.
Mire Reinstorf of South Africa and Elise Russis of France both jumped 4.15 to take gold and silver, respectively.
Abadie cleared her first three jumps of 3.80, 3.95 and 4.05, but was unable to clear 4.15.
And, while both Reinstorf and Russis cleared the mark, the South African managed the feat on her first try, while the French competitor did it in two.
That proved to be the difference as neither managed to clear 4.20, handing Reinstorf the gold.
