Great Britain's Thomas Pidcock captured gold in the men's cross-country mountain bike final on Monday in Tokyo.
Posting a time of one hour 25.14 seconds, he pushed through the finish line 20 seconds ahead of silver medallist Mathias Flückiger of Switzerland and 34 seconds ahead of Spain's David Valero who won bronze.
The 21-year-old Pidcock held onto first-place for more than half of the 28.25-kilometre race, and managing to strengthen his lead when Flückiger slipped up and ran with his bike a bit in the second split of the fifth lap.
Canada's Peter Disera finished in 26th place with a time of 1:31:45.
