Canadian wheelchair racer Brent Lakatos won his second gold medal at the 2015 IPC world championships on Sunday in Doha, Qatar.

Lakatos, from Montreal, captured the 200-metre T53 event in convincing fashion, crossing the line in 25.79 seconds.

Jean-Philippe Maranda, of Ste-Aurélie, Que., finished sixth.

Lakatos also won a gold medal in the men's T53 100m on Thursday.

Lakatos, already the world record holder in the 100m, set a new championship record time of 14.38, beating his own record, set in 2013, of 14.51.

Lakatos, who was paralyzed at the age of six after a freak skating accident, was a three-time silver medallist at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, and a three-time gold medallist at the 2013 world championships in the 100, 200 and 400 metres.
