Canada awoke Saturday with a 2-0 record but dropped a 21-16 decision to Latvia ahead of the Austrian matchup.
The 11th-ranked Canadian team of Alex Johnson, Jordan Jensen-Whyte, Steve Sir, and Kyle Landry began the tournament with an 18-14 win over Croatia on Thursday, followed by a 17-15 win over the Netherlands on Friday.
Netherlands defeated Croatia 22-16 Saturday afternoon and will meet the No. 2-ranked United States in the single-game quarter-finals, with Latvia (4-0) facing Lithuania after clinching top spot in Pool D.
The teams in the final, plus the third-place winner, book their spots to Tokyo in July.
