Sarah Mitton sets new Canadian shot put record with world-leading throw

Sarah Mitton once again broke her own Canadian women's shot put record. But this time, the 27-year-old from Brooklyn, N.S., also set the bar for women around the world.

Sarah Mitton once again broke her own Canadian women's shot put record.

But this time, the 27-year-old from Brooklyn, N.S., also set the bar for women around the world.

Mitton bested her old national record of 20.33 metres with a throw measuring 20.68m on Saturday at the Throws U 2024 Series meeting in Fleetwood, Pa.

The toss by the 2023 world silver medallist is also the world-leading distance thrown this year.
