Synchro swimmers score Russia's 3rd gold of aquatics worlds

Alexandra Patskevich and Svetlana Kolesnichenko earned Russia its third gold medal of the world swimming championships by winning the women's duet technical synchronized swimming title on Sunday in Budapest, Hungary.

The Russian pair earned a total of 94.0775 points to edge Chinese twins Jiang Wenwen and Jiang Tingting by 0.974 points.

The synchronized swimming pairing of Svetlana Kolesnichenko and Alexandra Patskevich finished first overall on Sunday at the 2017 FINA World Aquatics Championships with a winning score of 95.0515.

Yelyzaveta Yakhno and Anna Voloshyna claimed the bronze for Ukraine.

Canada's Jacqueline Simoneau and Claudia Holzner finished seventh, 7.3992 behind the Russians.

The Canadian synchronized swimming tandem of Claudia Holzner and Jacqueline Simoneau finished with a score of 87.6523 on Sunday in Budapest, Hungary.

"We moved very well together. Our routine was good, and we liked every second of it," Simoneau said.
