Canadians Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion took the silver medal in women's 10-metre synchro at a FINA Diving World Series event Friday in Kazan, Russia.

Benfeito, from Montreal, and Filion, from Laval, Que., tallied 304.50 points to claim their 27th World Series medal in the event — the most of any tandem in the circuit's history.

China's Ruolin Chen and Huixia Liu won the gold with 340.50 and Malaysia's Mun Yee Leong and Pandelela Pamg took bronze with 303.42.

"We didn't have our best performance today, particularly when it came to our individual dives," Filion said. "But once again, our synchro timing was on-point and that's really good. It seemed like the competition was difficult for everybody, so we ended up doing OK."

Pamela Ware of Greenfield Park, Que., and Jennifer Abel of Laval were 0.06 points off the podium in women's three-metre synchro, and Montreal's Philippe Gagne and Francois Imbeau-Dulac of Saint-Lazare, Que., were fourth in men's event.
