FINA Diving Grand Prix: Canada golden on Saturday
Technicality prevents Canadian bronze in men's 3m synchro
Canadian divers are racking up the medals at a key competition on their road to Rio. At Saturday's FINA Diving Grand Prix in Gatineau, Que., Canadians took home six medals in five events.
It started with Canadian duo Francois Imbeau-Dulac and Philippe Gagné taking gold in the men's 3-metre synchro competition at the FINA Diving Grand Prix event in Gatineau, Que., Saturday.
Imbeau-Dulac and Gagné scored 402.12 points over their six dives.

The Chinese team of Zhiyi Sun and Jianfeng Peng scored 399.48 points to earn the silver.
Another Canadian team had a good enough score for bronze, but ultimately couldn't claim their medal. Peter Tach Mai and Felix Leathead finished in third place with 373.62 points, but a FINA regulation states a country can only win one medal in a synchro event. So Tach Mai and Leathead will not get bronze, which now goes to France who sat over 10 points behind the Canadians in the standings.
Women's 10-metre synchro
It was another gold-medal performance for Canada in the women's 10-metre synchro final, courtesy of Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion.
It was a positive sign for Filion, who was out for months with an ankle injury.

The pair was leading the competition heading into the fifth and final round of dives, but sat only two points ahead of China. Both countries performed the same final dive, but the Canadians were able to execute better and finished with a score of 321.18 over Jinming Li and Miya Suo's 312.60.
Japan's Nana Sasaki and Matsuri Arai claimed bronze.
Riendeau moves towards Olympics
Vincent Riendeau continued Canada's gold medal day, scoring 467.70 in the men's 10-metre platform, almost 15 points ahead of China's Junjie Lian who claimed silver.
Currently, Canada has one Olympic spot in the men's 10m platform, so Riendeau's first-place finish at Canada Cup helps push him to the front of the pack to qualify for Rio 2016.
Montreal's Maxim Bouchard had a tough start to the event and couldn't bounce back, finishing in sixth place. Despite coming in last, he still has opportunities to qualify for the Summer Games.
Podium finishes for Canadians Ware, Abel
Chinese diver Chunting Wu's won gold in the women's 3m springboard with a score of 357.95, but two Canadians took silver and bronze.
Pamela Ware had a rough start, opening the competition in sixth place after the first round. But she executed the rest of her dives well and won the silver medal with 332.25 points. Teammate Jennifer Abel also managed to make the podium after having some difficult entries, finishing with a score of 327.10 to claim bronze.
