Canada's Dara Howell won't defend gold medal after missing women's ski slopestyle final

There will be a new champion in the women's ski slopestyle event. Canada's Dara Howell, the reigning Olympic champion, was unable to land the final jump on her second run and finished 21st with a score of 32.00.

There will be a new champion in the women's ski slopestyle event.

Canada's Dara Howell, the reigning Olympic champion, was unable to land the final jump on her second run and finished 21st with a score of 32.00. The top 12 move on to the final.

Whistler, B.C.'s Yuki Tsubota did make the final as her second-run score of 78.20 put her through in ninth place.

Sochi bronze medallist Kim Lamarre of Lac-Beauport, Que., was 22nd with a score of 23.60. She failed to advance after a pair of falls on her final jump of each qualification run.
